Disputes

Overview

If a dispute occurs on one card within a split tender transaction, how should disputes and related webhooks be managed?

  • Handle disputes independently for each payment method while maintaining a reference to the original split tender transaction
  • Webhook Handling: Each dispute webhook should reference both the individual payment ID and the parent transaction ID
  • Merchant Notification: Provide clear indication to the merchant that the dispute affects only part of a split tender transaction

Current Implementation

Dispute Resolution

  • If a dispute is WON, a dispute event will be sent to the merchant with the merchant transaction ID
  • The payment status in Convenient Checkout Gateway (CCG) will not be reversed
  • Refer Dispute Webhooks for additional information

Impact on Split Tender Transactions

When a dispute occurs on one payment method within a split tender transaction:

  • Only the disputed portion of the transaction is affected
  • Other payment methods used in the same transaction remain unaffected
  • The merchant can identify which specific payment method was disputed through the payment ID reference
