Local Wallet
Overview
A Local Wallet in CCG is created for customers who do not have an associated record in the Enterprise Identity Management Platform (EIMP). This wallet allows merchants to securely store and manage payment information for users not linked to an enterprise account.
Local Customer Creation Workflow
When a merchant initiates a session and no EIMP record is found for the customer, CCG creates a local customer and a local wallet. This ensures that all customers, regardless of enterprise affiliation, can store and use payment methods securely.
Key Considerations
- Intended Use: Local wallets are for customers without an enterprise identity.
- Access:
- Payment methods in a local wallet are accessible only to the specific customer and merchant.
- Local wallets are shared within merchant groups
- Upgrade Path: If a customer is later matched to an enterprise identity, their wallet may be upgraded to an enterprise wallet. Refer Enterprise wallet upgradation and Local to Enterprise Wallet Merge
note
Proper handling of local wallets ensures all customers can transact, regardless of enterprise affiliation.
